Nasa is building an interplanetary internet out of lasers

On Earth, most data is carried between continents on huge high-capacity fibre-optic cables that keep signals stable over long distances. But as we strive to become an interplanetary species in the coming decades, we're going to need interplanetary communications to go along with it.

We can't exactly string out fibre-optic cables in space, so Nasa is developing a new communications system that could one day become a high-speed interplanetary internet. It's called the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration, or LCRD for short.

Apple denies hacking threat to millions of iPhones

Apple has denied that millions of iCloud accounts have been breached after a hacker group claimed it gained access to the company’s various systems. 

In a statement to Fortune, an Apple spokesperson said that no systems, including iCloud and Apple ID, had been hacked and that the list of email addresses and passwords the group are claiming to have  “appears to have been obtained from previously compromised third-party services.“

MisFit Vapor will run Android Wear 2.0 rather than firm’s own software

The MisFit Vapor was unveiled back in January at CES 2017, but rather than follow the smartwatch trend and pack Google’s Android Wear platform it instead runs MisFit’s own software. Or at least, it did… 

MisFit has now confirmed its smartwatch will launch with Android Wear 2.0 on board after all, bringing a wider range of features and apps to the wearable.

Twitter says it shuttered 377,000 terrorism accounts in six months
